Today’s newsletter was a lot of fun to write, because I have a teenage son who is obsessed with luxury colognes, so learning more about this new trend just might help me to get more than a one word response from him next time I ask how his day was.

I’m also a big fan of the “Home Alone” movies, and with the home the movie was filmed in coming up for sale for $5.2 million dollars, I guess it’s made me a little nostalgic. Definitely adding it into my holiday movie rotation for 2024.

I’ve also been busy at work recording (30) podcast episodes that cover each of our newsletters since February 2024. I should have those wrapped up, edited, thumbnails created, and ready for release by mid-June.

Amazon has received approval FAA for drone delivery in the U.S.

Amazon has received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to operate its fleet of delivery drones in the United States. This certification allows Amazon’s Prime Air program to deliver packages up to 5 pounds in 30 minutes or less. The approval marks a significant milestone for Amazon, demonstrating that its drones meet stringent safety and reliability standards.

The Prime Air drones are equipped with advanced navigation systems and sense-and-avoid technology, ensuring they can safely navigate both urban and rural environments. Initially, Amazon plans to roll out its drone delivery service in select locations where it has already established testing sites. These areas will serve as pilot regions to refine the service before a broader implementation.

I’m not going to lie, there are times that I would gladly pay a little extra to get a product delivered directly to wherever I am in the world, and if I’m willing to pay then Amazon must know of other customers who’d also be willing to pay up for the convenience of real-time product delivery anywhere in the world!

Filmmaker Morgan Spurlock Has Passed Away

The man who sacrificed his own health and body to bring us “Super Size Me” has passed away at the age of 53.

Morgan Spurlock was an acclaimed filmmaker best known for his groundbreaking documentary “Super Size Me” and many other documentaries.

He passed away on May 23, 2024 due to complications from cancer. Morgan Spurlock’s work left an indelible mark on the world of documentary filmmaking. His 2004 film, “Super Size Me,” in which he ate only McDonald’s food for 30 days, highlighted the health risks of fast food and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.

In addition to “Super Size Me,” Morgan Spurlock’s diverse body of work included films like “Where in the World Is Osama bin Laden?” and “The Greatest Movie Ever Sold,” as well as the sequel “Super Size Me 2: Holy Chicken!”

Throughout his career, Morgan Spurlock was known for his incisive, often humorous critiques of consumerism and corporate practices.

He is survived by his two sons, Laken and Kallen, his parents, Phyllis and Ben, and his brothers, Craig and Barry. His legacy is remembered fondly by his family, who described him as a creative genius and a generous soul.
